Wedge clamp for non-bearing connection or branching of inuslated aluminum conductor or ACSR in overhead distribution lines. It work with insulation cover to offer insulation protection.
C-type clamp is mainly used for T connection and jumpering on non-bearing positision of overhead insulated conductor, aluminum hinge conductor, steel core aluminum hinge line, steel hinge wire and copper wire in 20KV overhead distribution line.The clamp is made of high-strength special aluminum alloy with good electrical conductivity. It adopts reasonable C shape structure. When the conductor is thermal expanded and cold contracted, the flexibility of C-type structure always keep theconstant contact pressure between the conductor and clamp. It keeps contact pressure unchanged when the external environment and load conditions changed to meet the best connection requirements.

|C Type Clamp Installation Instructions:|
C-type clamp is non-bearing power connection fitting and can not be used as a bearing fitting; it can only be used for conductor connection, jumper, "T"connection and transformer leading off. Voltage levels of clamps are 380kV, 10kV, 35kV, 110kV, 220kV, can be for aluminum - aluminum, copper - copper, iron - iron connection. No need to be covered by aluminum belt.
1、Determine the specification: carefully check conductor is the same as marked on and clamp. such as :CT-822 LGJ185-LJ120/95,LGJ95 means that LGJ185-LJ(TJ)120 or LGJ185对LJ(TT)95or LGJ185-LGJ95 connection. (as figure 1)
2、 To determine the size of the conductor: the clamp is designed to meet the coordination between conductors of different diameters. The inner arc surfaces on both sides of the hinge block are of different sizes, the big cambered surface matches the large conductor, and the small cambered surface matches small conductor. Rules: the bus is large (main) line, the block is small (Branch) line; put out the articulated block to make it arching (two hinge block into a certain angle). (as shown in Figure 2)
3、 Put in place the conductors and bolts: Place the conductors in the "C" -shaped grooves according to sizes of conductors ( bowed outward). Insert the bolt from the back of the "C" shape so that the bolt is in the middle of the top of the hinge and tighten the bolt with a wrench. (as shown in figure3、4)
4、To ensure complete installation: tighten the bolt, there should be a clear sense of force on the last few screws; flatten the hinge pressure to withstood "C" shaped components. C shape should be a little deformed (as shown in figure5 )
5、Disassembly: Loosen the bolt, insert a screwdriver between the briquettes and the "C" pieces, and push up the force so that the briquettes can be turned upwards ( as shown in figure 6)
